assign page access require visibility for property set

I’m walking through https://academy.mendix.com/link/module/184/lecture/1436/4.2.1-Creating-the-Wizard using Studio Pro 8.17.1 and ran into 2 questions, please see screenshot. one being maybe a typo the other has to do with assigning page access to role, which seem to be only possible if page property “Visibility for” is set to some role. is this a new feature?
