Hello, i am taking the first course on creating an app using a template and I get this pop up when after i run the app locally   How do I know which app is using this port number?  How do I change the port number for the application ? i have the 10.8.1 version

Basically there are two ways to resolve the issue: 

1. You can assign a new port to the app

2. You can stop whatever process is using the port

Please restart your pc and run the application or go to task manager close current running Mendix and browser also, reopen application and start again. it will work
