It's will be nice to have Non-persistable association between 2 persistent objects (not sure is this even possible to develop), but why this will be nice, if you developing for example custom multi select for DataGrid2 and you need to set association between your object from Datagrid2 to some another mapper object that is also persistent and can't be non-persistable and both will be commited to database, you always need to provide extra loops and check to remove that specific association to avoid showing your object in Datagrid2 as selected because to show it as selected you are using that association to show check box.
