Hi All, I am importing an excel file and I want to validate the number of columns that are there in my excel . Suppose there are 16 column on the page where I am importing my excel and so I want to validate that my excel should also have 16 columns only...not 18 or 17 . So ,is there any possible way out to validate excel file column header count that I am importing?

The excel import will do so automatically. If the columns of the imported spreadsheet do not match the title of the columns that you have defined it will show the errors. You need not do this validation before the import. It would do the same thing twice.
