Drop-down button showing modal pop-up instead of drop-down menu

I currently have various different drop-down menus throughout my app, however instead of the button producing a drop down menu of options from the button icon, it produces a modal pop-up with the options in the center of the screen. Is a modal pop-up the standard option for Mendix? If so, what is the best way to switch the selection menu to a drop-down option while maintaining the functionality of the selection options.   The second image is the type of drop-down functionality I am looking for.

Hi Jake,

I think You need to check page layout whether it is set to modal popup option in Page. Click on page properties and change your layout option.
