Whats the difference between the Start and Start service function in the Mendix Service Console?

Dears, I'm just getting started with Mendix. I created an on-premise environment, I don't understand the difference between the "Start" and "Start service" function that run only one in the Mendix Service Console. Could you tell me the difference between these function? Regards.

I think it is this: start starts the app (in Java), start service starts the windows service that serves the app.
