SVN Error: ra_serf : An error occurred during SSL communication

Has anyone encountered a similar issue to this when downloading a new version of an application through the modeler? SharpSvn.SvnSerfException: ra_serf: An error occurred during SSL communication at SharpSvn.SvnClientArgs.HandleResult(SvnClientContext client, SvnException error, Object targets) at SharpSvn.SvnClient.CheckOut(SvnUriTarget url, String path, SvnCheckOutArgs args, SvnUpdateResult& result) at SharpSvn.SvnClient.CheckOut(SvnUriTarget url, String path) at Mendix.Modeler.VersionControl.Windows.SvnConnector.Checkout(IRemoteRepository remoteRepository, IRevLine branchToCheckout, String targetProjectDirectory) in C:\Users\Autobuild\workspace\AppStudio4.0-Build\modeler\Mendix.Modeler.VersionControl.Windows\Svn\SvnConnector.cs:line 69 I found a few similar posts on StackOverflow recommending SVN update and SVN clean up. None of these resolved the problem. I have tried both SmartSVN version 11.x and 14.x. VPN recommendation check → I am definitely not running on a VPN Antivirus recommendation check → All antivirus is disabled Still the problem persists. Any ideas of how we can resolve it would be much appreciated.
