Generate document from template containing an image with transparancy

When trying to generate a document which contains an image with transparancy I get the following error: com.mendix.modules.microflowengine.MicroflowException: Parameter alpha must not be null in another topic the OP suggested to add a white background to the template, however this did not solve the problem for me. I left a comment in the thread but it remained unanswered. Does anyone know a working workaround for this problem. One of the solutions is to only allow jpgs but if possible I would like to avoid that.
