Italics dont appear in PDF print of document template

Dear fellow Mendixers, I have a document template which is used to produce a PDF document. Some text should be italic, so for 'style' I selected 'italic'. It shows perfectly fine in the template itself, but... the text shows as regular text in the PDF document. I think this should be really easy, I guess I'm missing something obvious. Any ideas? Thanks!

Could it be a problem of the font family? Because if the server does not have the font it will not render. See documentation here on how to incorporate custom fonts.
