Can a module depend on another module? Can this be declared, and will Mendix install the dependencies when I add a module to my app? I think if it is not supported, modules will need to be rather self reliant, which does not help with reuse.

Some modules need other modules to be able to work like MxModelReflection or the CommunityCommons. Those dependencies are only described in the documentation of the module. There is currently no way to declare those dependencies.
