Cancel changes for popup is taking 5-8 sec to close

Hi, I have a details page popup which will show the details of an object. It is linked to a button. When i click the button the popup page is opening in just 1 sec. But when i click cancel(on click action as 'cancel changes'). It is taking 5-8 sec to close and sometimes more. Could someone please help me on what is causing this issue. Thanks in advance
