Using the ZipHandling module i zip a list of documents but the size its not changed

Hi everyone, i use the ZipHandling module to zip a list of documents and the users can download it, the problem is that this module is not reducing space. For example, if i Zip a list of documents that in total use 30MB of size, the .zip is still the same 30MB, not even a little lower. Thank you in advance for your help, Carlos.
