Why apps built in Mendix feel slow and janky?

0
Hello Mendix wizards,   To be honest, everytime I build an application in Mendix, it feels slow. Even when tried to eliminate microflows  with direct complex XPaths, following best principles, optimized data retrievals, adding indexes to database tables (mindfully), ... It still feels janky.   When I have replicated the same application with Mendix acting just as a REST API, and the frontend is detached (implemented in React/Angular). It feels far faster, smoother and better.   As a matter of fact even the Mendix's own applications like Sprintr, Community, Marketplace feels janky sometimes and takes much time to load.   Why is this the case? Has anyone experienced the same?
