Using Nginx/Apache on Windows in production?

I've found the Mendix server to be much more responsive when configured behind a separate web server (like Nginx). I have even set it up in my development environment for this reason. The documentation only describes setting up IIS as a separate web server. I know that Nginx for Windows is currently considered beta. What about setting up Apache in front of the Mendix server in production?

We're using Apache in front of Mendis on production, works pretty good. Maybe someone from Mendix could provide more documentation about this subject.

Edit:

I didn't setup the server but I think we're using mod_proxy to forward some request and I don't think we're using compression, because mx 2.5 is already compressed. As far as I know we're not using specific directives for Internet Explorer.
