Email Notification

I need to do email notification configuration. Can any one please provide the step by step configuration detail as in Documentation or Forum lot of things are seems to be mixed up. I just need to showcase whether email notification can be done in Mendix with minimum configuration. Please suggest asap. Thanks for all the help. Regards Piyush
