Can I build a model/application in (Japanese) characters instead of Latin?

Can we build a domain model, forms, Microflows, etc. in (Japanese) characters? And do you run into trouble if you have to integrate (e.g. use XML) or use customer java (e.g. use attributes with characters as input parameters in java)?

I just tried entering a few Chinese names for entities and relations in the domain model, as well as variable or parameter names in microflows, but unfortunately none of them were accepted (name can only contain letters, digits, and underscores). Only captions were allowed in Chinese.
