Suppose i want to show the details of student-subject-marks in matrix format. Like in the column we can have the subjects, in the row we can have the name of the students, and in the matrix cells we can have the marks allotted for a particular student in a particular subject. Is there any way to do that?

I think your best bet is the pivot table widget in the appstore

You could also nest two template grids or list views in each other. You will need some styling but with some tweaking you can create a grid with a custom number of columns.

the best option is to use the pivot table widget. you can also customize the display in the widget css properties.
