Group digits and decimal precision in a document template

I'm creating a document template (PDF) to show a company balance sheet. This means a lot of big (currency) numbers. Is there any way to group digits and hide decimals in a document template, in order to show the numbers in a currency format? I can't seem to find this options, where in a normal form it's available.

When you have the currency attribute selected, a group digits option is available under properties and then menu item appearance. You can also limit the amount of digits there.
