HTML to XML

Is it possible to convert HTML data into XML and import it into a Mendix app? How would one go about realizing this and how much is involved?

No that is not possible, since HTML is not a subset of XML (XHTML is however, but that is far less common). You can convert html to plain text however and send it as plain text (or as raw HTML using a string attribute). But whether this are feasible solutions depend on what you want to do with it.
