MendixRuntimeException when uploading a non image with the imageuploader

I use the standard image uploader. When uploading a non image, e.g. ini file, I get a "Uploading failed: MendixRuntimeException. File: <xx> is not a valid image" message. How can I prevent this message?

I suggest to file two feature requests, one for tiff support, and one for customizable error messages for that exception.
