Before I start documenting my model within Mendix I'd like to make sure that I can export the documentation into another system. (E.g. HTML) Having a javadocs type of overview of my documentation would be very useful. Does anyone have any idea if this is possible? My only alternative is to create a separate Wiki for my developers, however I would prefer to have this directly tied to the model.

Not out of the box. Maybe your developers can get used to the documentation inside Mendix. The model is the documentation is the paradigm.
