PersistentSessions no longer working?

In a new Mendix 3.0.0 project, I've set the custom Runtime configuration setting 'PersistentSessions' to value 'true'. However, the Runtime doesn't seem to persist my session. In a different 3.0.0-rc1 the setting enabled me to resume my session after a restart of the Runtime. This is currently not working. Am I missing something? This was an unexpected side effect of another ticket, I fixed this in the upcoming 3.1 release.
