Error: A nested dataview cannot have a control bar

I nested a dataview in another dataview. The first DV stores the entity, and the nested one the association. As a result I receive the error "A nested dataview cannot have a control bar". I can point at the control bar, remove any buttons, but can not find any properties of the control bar as a whole, nor is my tiddly widdly right mouse button capable of removing this bar.

In the properties panel under appearance there is an option Show Control Bar. Set that to false.
