Input mask behavior - copy paste

I am using an input mask to force a specific input for a zipcode entry. This is necessay while the zipcode string is used in a webservice later in the process. The problem encounters if I want to paste a zipcode (from my clipboard) in the input field. This is not possible. Is this normal behavior and if so, do you have a work-around? Thanks.

I talked with someone in the client team, he says this is indeed not possible and this could be seen as a bug. You could create a ticket on mxdn.
