How can we achieve the functionality to set alternate columns with different colors in a data grid?

In the default theme this is already the case (see 4.0.1) and achieved with classes .mendixDataGridtableRowOdd and .mendixDataGridtableRowEven from the layout.css You could try and overwrite the properties of these in you theme.

the above mentioned options are for datagrid table rows, can we do the same for columns?
