Install problem - Java

0
I am running Windows 7 Enterprise N (x64). I am trying to install the Mendix Business Modeler (Mendix-4.1.0-Setup.exe). I do not meet the pre-requisites as I do not have the JDK installed. When the installer trys, I get the following message box pop open: Unsupported 16-Bit Application The program or feature "\??\C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp{F85EF33C-F5EC-47AC-A8AB-3A527B6E9D6F}\jdk-x64.exe" cannot start or run due to incompatibity with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available. OK I tried downloading and installing: jdk-7u6-windows-x64.exe After restartING my PC i still have the same problem. Has anybody got any ideas? Is there a different JDK I can install to get past this? Thanks for any help, Steve

I'm using Windows 7 professional 64-bit and I have jdk1.6.0_30 (64 bit) installed and working OK. I'm not saying java 7 won't work, but a late release of java 6 definitely works.
