Chrome: Export to Excel opens pop-up and downloads excel in that pop-up

Chrome: Export to Excel opens pop-up and downloads excel in that pop-up. This will be an issue on systems with a pop-up blocker. Is there a way to download the file in the same window? I have the feeling that this behavior changed lately and then I guess because of a Mendix upgrade. Can that be right?

That's the behavior I see in Firefox, with a separate downloads window being opened....

In Chrome the download appears in the download bar at the bottom of the browser in the same window. Do you see different behavior?
