Session loss in mobile when actions take-up too much time

When processing data from a mobile app, It seems that I loose my sessions when (java)actions take to much time to respond. This also happens when committing an image entity when uploading larger images. There are no console error messages. The only message I get is a popup with " Er is een verbindingsfout opgetreden. Probeert u het later nog eens." (Connection error!) How can I solve this?
