The new version of the LDAP module has many advantages. But there is I think one problem with the new construction. When setting up the import locations of the LDAP server I used to be able to search the database for a location. With the current setup the directories are non-persistent and searching is no longer possible. Not so nice when you have to go through a non sorted list of 2000 plus directories. Now the sorting part I can solve myself but I hope somebody at Mendix (wink wink Michel) can think about a sollution to be able to search in the server for a subdirectory with part of a certain name. Note that you can manually enter the name of a directory now. So you can copy past the proper directory name from anywhere.
If you still do need a search function, I suggest to file a feature request :)
