Mendix version and oracle version

Why the latest versions of mendix showing the DB types for Oracle 11.2g or later rather than 10.2 or later in the older versions? And is there any problem will be raised in case of using 10 g?

We dropped official support for it as this version is now 8 years old. Problems that also occur in Oracle 11 will still be fixed of course.

Note that Oracle itself already dropped premier support in July 2010 and will end extended support in July 2013. I would suggest moving to Oracle 11.
