I am developing a large project on two different machines, both with i7 processors and 8gigs of RAM. Both are great for developing, running and deploying the project. The laptop starts it very quickly. Except the desktop machine takes forever to start the project on the local host. It hangs the longest time on "Copy Files". I've checked processing and resources during the start up after I click on 'Run' and it's not taxing the machine at all, using only 18-25% of available resources. Anything I can do to speed up the modeler?

What kind of resources are you talking about? Perhaps it's hanging heavily on the hard disk? Maybe the laptop has an SSD and the desktop pc does not? It could be that the disk is heavily fragmented or otherwise not in a healthy shape.
