Open File Directory

Is there an easy way to create a link so that i can open a file directory or file. I know there is the document up loader etc but i just want to be able to open the directory that the file is located in. For example if the file was on \nlbmra1\mendix. I know i could create this with a java action, but is there another way?

For this you can use the External Link widget. The attribute selected in the 'URL attribute' property should result the location of your file, prefixed with 'file:///', for example 'file:///\nlbmra1\mendix'.

Due to security restrictions this might only work in Internet Explorer (not tested). Firefox does not allow scripts to access local files.
