I wonder I made a mistake or Menix has some sort of issue...I have test project to play with excel import. Nothing special. Is it normal that Runtime is shutting down? Your project probably contains a library which has the package javax/xml/namespace defined inside. If you replace this library with its equivalent from the Mendix\x.x.x\compatibility\legacyRuntimeLibraries directory this should work fine (Mendix version 5.1.1 and up).
