Modeler hangs during startup due to database connection error

After updating from 5.2.0 to 5.8.1: when starting a project from the modeler and there is some database issue (connection failed) the modeler just hangs indefinitely at 'Performing startup'. There seems to be no way of stopping this again apart from killing the modeler process, or is there anything I missed there?

There is a story in our backlog for fixing this. In the past there would be at most three tries but this changed and the Modeler was not adapted. For now, I think you can close the progress window with Alt+F4 :-)
