You can use a Data View, Data Grid, List View or Template Grid on a page to display either one or multiple rows from a given entity.

Not. That is kind of the idea of a LowCodeDevelopment platform. Mendix does this for you with the Mendix Business Server, aka the MBS.

You can check out what the MBS does for you by checking out the ConnectionBus-logs. To do that, in Mendix Studio Pro go to your console panel, click on the dropdown “Advanced”, click “Set log levels” and set the ConnectionBus_Retrieve to trace. Now do some actions in your local running app and then check the console log. You now see all SQL-retrieve statements given by the MBS to the underlying database engine.
