Deploying Mendix App to AWS

Hello, My team is planning to develop a Mendix app and deploy it to a private cloud. Assuming we deploy on AWS, I noticed that the Mendix Platform is available on the AWS Marketplace with associated pricing: https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/prodview-qszzyljtfchmg https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/prodview-xc75ugdh66frw Is it mandatory to use the that from AWS Marketplace to deploy my Mendix app on AWS? Also, will I incur additional Mendix licensing fees if I choose to deploy manually on my own AWS infrastructure? Thank you!

Hi Faris,

The Mendix Platform on AWS Marketplace is purely there to show that you can buy Mendix licenses via AWS Marketplace if you want to. This has more commercial and process benefits for some AWS customers than for others, so each customer can decide for themselves. The pricing is purely just sample pricing, but we don't expect customers to buy Mendix directly from AWS MP, based on this pricing. That would be a so-called "public offer", but we would expect customers to request a "private offer" instead. When you do that, we get in touch with you to provide you a quotation based on your actual needs. We then upload that custom quotation to AWS Marketplace and you can accept it there (if you want).

As for the deployment of your Mendix app(s) on AWS, this is completely separate from the commercial process of AWS Marketplace. To deploy production applications on your own infrastructure (AWS or other), you need to license the "Mendix for Private Cloud" deployment option, but you don't need to buy that via AWS Marketplace.
