That’s a very wide reaching question, but in general “Yes”.

For example, one project I worked on had a mobile printer that connected to WiFi. In this case, I just had to send the data to a URL it exposed on the local network.

The same project used a barcode scanner. In this case, it connected as a keyboard so it was invisible to the Mendix app. It just looked like someone had typed the code in very quickly.
