Push notification messages remain in Pending status

I have an application implementing v6.2.0 of the Push Notifications Connector. We have opted for the FCM integration. Messages published to a device get delivered but its always 1 message behind. We observe the Messages overview page to list all messages in “Delivered” status except for the most recent message. If a new message is triggered the previous stale message is updated to “Delivered” while the new message remains in “Pending”. Has anyone else encountered this issue?
