Entity attribute validation showing on clicking Cancel button

Hi , I have attribute Hours in entity for which I have applied Validation to show error message if Value is greater than 8 . But while testing its observed that if we enter 9 and click cancel button , still its showing validation error message. Please suggest solution. Thank you !
