can any one please explain what does Assocation Owner means and how does it helps?

I was going through Mendix doc for domain model and I came across a term Association Owner. I am not able to understand about it through docs so can any one help me to understand about Association Owner and how does it helps in details please??

But what an association is about, is the the "connection" made between 2 entities. When you make that association one or both entities can be the owner. It helps to change your domain model easier and to visualize how you can use your X-path.
