Improving the deployment experience

Currently the deployment involves the following steps:

1. create a deployment package
2. select the latest commit
3. WAIT for the package
4. Select to deploy
5. Stop the running application
6. WAIT for it to stop
7. Start the deployment
8. WAIT for the deployment to happen
9. Start the application
10. WAIT for the application to start
11. Test that the app runs

This numerous waiting causes often the devs to forgot to do the last steps and the system falls in a stopped stage. simply too much clicking and delays.

Why not just allow to choosing the target environments and handle the stops and starts directly when creating a package?
