Hi. I’m curious about the differences between ‘run locally’ and ‘publish’ in Studio Pro. If somebody answered, I would appreciate it.

Hi Insik,

When we hits the Run locally option, the app would run on the local server that we configure on app setting. Refer given below image,

When we click on the Run option, the app will be deploying to Mendix free cloud. Refer below documentation more about  Mendix Public free cloud.

https://docs.mendix.com/developerportal/deploy/mendix-cloud-deploy/

Hope this helps you!

Hello Insik,

Indeed Arun is correct….

Adding to the point- Publishing means getting your app up and running in a cloud environment to make it available for the end-users.

You can also refer Previewing & Publishing Your App | Mendix Documentation for more information.

Hi Insik Choi,

Run locally – You can access with in your machine with the local db.

Publish – Once you published you will get a sandbox link by using this link you can access the app from anywhere it will use Mendix free cloud DB.
