Authenticator Error of Production Environment

Hi,   When I try to access the live log of the production environment, I have to click on the details button first, then enter the correct code from Google's 2-step authentication in the pop-up screen. There was no problem last night, but today when I enter the correct code, I get the message "An error occurred, please contact your system administration". I am sure I entered the code correctly, because when I enter it incorrectly, I get another message saying "invalid".   Why am I having an authenticator problem? How can I fix this?
