How to delete local file storage after switching storage service

We are switching our "StorageService" from "com.mendix.storage.localfilesystem" to "com.mendix.storage.azure". We will transfer the existing files from the local file system by downloading a Uploaded Files backup and uploading the files to Azure. But after switching the files will still be on the local filesystem. How can we remove them?
