What's new in IIH V2.00
Common Configurator
General
- Improved user experience with the new Siemens Industrial Experience theming
- Improved messaging features and notifications of events and errors to improve visibility, readability and reduce noise and cognitive load.
- It's now possible to run Common Configurator in a standalone deployment independently of either IIH Essentials or IIH Semantics.
Home
- Configuration of cloud sync destinations has been redesigned and is now dynamically aligned with the user experience of corresponding features of IIH Essentials.
- Data only sync is now supported for Senseye without syncing the hierarchy of variables.
- It's now possible to set up multiple sync targets (e.g. multiple Insights Hub and/or Senseye tenants) and sync with them concurrently.
Manage Data
- Introducing Manage Data - Define Data and Store Data from previous versions have been merged into the new Manage Data
- Migration to a new modeling paradigm, with legacy, existing models and assets converted automatically and seamlessly to the new paradigm as part of the upgrade procedure.
- Constant values can now be assigned directly to OPC UA variables.
- It's now possible to assign tags from connector sources directly to OPC UA variables in the OPC UA pages.
Query Data
- Page contents are now cached after initial load so the page would remain active without reloading after navigating away and back.
Settings
- Indexing for OPC UA namespaces can now be reset manually, and would be reset automatically if it has reached its limit.
- Options are now available to configure the caching behavior for Query Data and OPC UA features.
- It's now possible to manually toggle the availability/presence of IIH Essentials and IIH Semantics and apply your settings globally for your users - if IIH Essentials and/or IIH Semantics is configured to be not available/present (uninstalled) relevant features would be disabled.
IIH Semantics
- Support for the Siemens Simatic PLC DateTime DataTypes (Time, LTime, S5Time, Time_Of_Day, LTime_Of_day, Date, Date_Time, LDT & DTL)
- Advanced data model adaption in IIH Semantics:
- OPC UA models that are loaded or onboarded are converted into advanced data model and become visible on the Manage Data Page or the IIH Essentials UI.
- Advanced data model created in the Common Configurator are transformed into OPC UA models and become visible under the IIHAnchors namespace.
- Variable of an OPC UA model can be mapped to the tags of south bound connector through the Model on the Manage Data Page.
IIH Essentials:
- Advanced data model: The asset model is replaced with a new, more advanced model. It offers full type support and inheritance concept. Objects can be linked using relations and it is possible to augment the model with metadata, references, localization, standardized units, etc.
- Simplified IIH integration: IIH Essentials can be used with its own UI, or when installing IIH Semantics and Common Configurator on top with the Common Configurator UI. No migration needed.
- Simplified Common Configurator integration: Define data and Store data are combined into manage data. It is also the same UI as the IIH Essentials UI, so IIH users only need to learn one UI.
- Improved UI and UX: The UI was optimized to work with big quantities by adding customizable tables with multi select and bulk operations.
- New theming with dark mode: To ensure constant comfortable operation of IIH Essentials, a dark mode has been added.
- Generic MQTT synchronization: Synchronize time-series data to external MQTT brokers. Topic, payload and data point format can be defined dynamically.
- Write transformation results back to connector: Results of a transformation can be written to any connected writable tag.
