thanks for your questions. USB cameras are currently official not supported as it cannot be guaranteed that the needed USB driver is part of the Kernel.
As the operating system is not accessible you cannot load the needed drivers by yourself. I would suggest to go for an IP based camera. There is even a Vision connector in the pipeline for IP based cameras
