Rebooting IED Virtual (bug or feature?)

0
Hello,   We were forced to reboot the IED Virtual and noticed that after rebooting, the IEDV version reverted from 1.22.3 (latest) to 1.21.1 (previous). Is this intended behavior, something we should be aware of, or could it be a bug? Thanks.   EDIT: Moreover, I’m unable to revert to version 1.22.3 !           Best regards, Petr Log (subpart)

IEDV Version Reverting Issue – Summary & Suggestions

  • After reboot, version reverted from 1.22.3 to 1.21.1 – this is not expected.

  • Possible reasons:

    • Firmware update wasn’t finalized properly.

    • Device may have booted from a fallback partition.

    • Reboot happened too early during the update.

  • If you can’t reinstall 1.22.3:

    • There may be leftover temp data blocking the update.

    • Logs may show rollback or validation errors.

What You Can Do:

  • Check system logs right after reboot for any rollback message.

  • Try reinstalling 1.22.3 with full permissions.

  • Ensure there’s enough storage and no network/firewall interruptions.

  • If still blocked, it could be a firmware bug – escalate to vendor or support.

Hi Petr,

we have a bug in IEVD v1.22.3-1-a which causes IEVD's update sporadically to fail if it has too many apps installed on it.

Please try the following:

- backup your device from IEM side

- backup all apps installed on IEVD manually (especially the very important ones e.g. IIH Essentials, Connector configs, etc)

- uninstall all applications

- update IEVD

- restore backup from IEM to IEVD

This should do the trick.

Best,

Pascal
