Excel Spreadsheet Update Mendix Data (not Excel Importer)

I would like to update information in my Mendix app from within an Excel spreadsheet (via OData, I can read data, but I don't think I can write data from Excel to Mendix via OData). I have started researching this, but thought I would check with the community and see if anyone has any experience with this. Any input or pointers would be welcome!

You can make a choice from import Excel files, XML and from Modeler version 6.6, also JSON based data from Excel. This can be manual or via a microflow and rest services fully automatic imported in and exported from a Mendix project. Depending on the level of user interference on both sides (Excel and Mendix) you can make you choice for the solution.
