Contributing a new release to Git

0
Hello I am trying to contribute a minor version (v5.3.1) to the DeepLink module. There is no detailed guide on the Mendix documentation site on how to contribute to an old version. I want to target an old version because we still have Mendix 6 (don't ask...). I created a fork in my repo, a branch started from the tag v5.3.0. I made my commits in this branch, but what's next? I cannot do a Pull request, because master targets the later framework. What would be the next step? Thanks

File a support ticket so Mendix can fix it on their end since they maintain this module.
