Email module with templates - attachments are not attached to the email in On Premise set up

Hi, We have a project with 7.13 that is running on premise and we’re using the email module with templates to send emails, version 8.1.1, and the problems is that no attachments are being attached to the emails while locally with same smtp configurations it is working properly. I’ve debug it and the attachments are being created and feed to the SendEmail Java action however these are not received on SMTP server side. Has anyone used this module successfully on premise set ups ? thanks
